Glossary

Definitions for every metric and term in BrandAxis — Visibility, Sentiment, Rank, Mentions, Sources, and more.

Plain-English definitions for every term that appears in the BrandAxis dashboard.

Visibility

A 0–100 score representing how often your brand is mentioned across your tracked prompts and models. See Visibility score explained.

Sentiment

The tone of AI-generated descriptions of your brand — positive, neutral, or negative. See Sentiment analysis.

Rank

Where in an AI answer your brand is mentioned. A Rank of 1 means you’re the first brand mentioned; Rank 5 means there were four brands mentioned before you in the AI conversation. See Rank.

Mention

Your brand being named in an AI response. Mentions drive your Visibility, Sentiment, and Rank scores. See Mentions and sources.

Source

A website (domain or URL) that an AI model references in its answer. Sources are the AI’s footnotes — the receipts behind what it said. See Mentions and sources.

Chat

A single logged conversation between BrandAxis and an AI model — one prompt, one model, one tracking run. Your monthly chat volume is prompts × models × runs. See Understanding chats.

Workspace

A project that you’re tracking. Each workspace has its own prompts, competitors, and results. See Creating a workspace.

Prompt

A question you want to track. Prompts run on a regular cadence and we record what every tracked AI model says in response.

Alias

An alternative spelling of your brand name — e.g. “Brand Axis” vs “BrandAxis”. See Aliases & brand grouping.
