How brand data is collected

Where the numbers for your tracked brands come from, how often they update, and how to interpret comparisons between your core brand and the others.

Brand data isn’t a separate pull — it falls out of the same AI runs that track your core brand.

How it works

When BrandAxis runs your prompts, the response text mentions zero or more brands. We detect every brand on your tracked list, and record:

  • Mention — was the brand named?
  • Rank — where did they appear in the answer order?
  • Sentiment — How positive or negatively did the AI mention the brand?
  • Sources — which domains/urls did the model cite when discussing them?

This is then aggregated into the same scores we compute for your core brand, so you can compare like for like.

How often it updates

Same cadence as your own prompts — daily on paid plans, weekly on Free.

What this means for comparison

A tracked brand’s scores reflect how the AI models you’ve selected describe them on your prompts — not their overall market position. A brand that dominates outside your prompt set won’t show up strong here. So ensure you cover a wide range of prompts.
